Biography

A centre-forward, Ron played for the crack amateur side Barnet and scored their second goal in their 3-2 win over Bishop Auckland in the 1946 FA Amateur Cup final. In the first two seasons after World War II he helped Barnet to also win the London Senior Cup and the Athenian League on two occasions. He was also in the Barnet team beaten by Leytonstone in the 1948 FA Amateur Cup final. Although part of the Olympic squad that same year, he never played in any if Great Britain’s four matches, with Barnet team-mate Dennis Kelleher being selected ahead of him.
