Biography

A fine goalkeeper with Cardiff, Hitchman made his international début in the 1947 British Championship. Following an impressive performance at the 1948 Olympic trials, he was selected for the Great Britain team at the London Games where, unfortunately, Hitchman was an unused substitute. He played his last game for Wales in 1949, after being dropped following a poor performance in the heavy defeat by England at Abergavenny.
