Biography

A former bank clerk, Trevor Lake played his club hockey with Devizes, and won county honours for both Wiltshire and Dorset. He also played for The West in the annual match against The East. A half-back, he was one of the reserves for the Great Britain team at the London Olympics, but did not play in any of their five games. Lake was called up as a replacement for Barrie Darewski (Godson of the writer J. M. Barrie), who pulled out 10 weeks before the Games started. The month after the Olympics, Lake was in the Great Britain team that took part in the jubilee celebrations of the Netherlands Hockey Association.
