Biography

Jürgen Kühl, a 400 metre runner, came in fourth with the 4x400 relay at the Melbourne Olympics with Walter Oberste, Manfred Poerschke and Karl-Friedrich Haas. He was also eliminated in the second round of the 400. In 1956 and 1957 he was West German 400 Indoor Champion, also winning outdoors in 1957. Two years later he retired due to knee injuries. Kühl started his sports career as an outdoor handball player.

Personal Best: 400 – 47.4 (1956).
