Biography

Sprinter Andreas Ruth was a member of the German 4x100 metres relay squad that was eliminated in the heats at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. He entered the podium at national championships only once, finishing third in the 200 in 1997. Before he turned to track and field athletics, Ruth was a football (soccer) player. Later, he became an athletics coach, and married his non-Olympian sprint pupil Sandra Abel.

Personal Best: 100 – 10.41 (1997).
