Marathon runner Karl-Heinz Sievers came in 23rd at the 1968 Mexico City marathon. He also placed 14th at the 1966 Europeans. In 1966 and 1967 he won West German titles, and in 1968 placed second. By profession Sievers trained as a machine fitter, but later worked as a lead distributor in the sweets import branch.
