Biography

Shot putter Wilhelm Uebler came in sixth at the 1928 Amsterdam Olympic Games while his teammate Emil Hirschfeld won the first ever German shot put medal (bronze). Between 1928 and 1930 Uebler participated in four international matches. Domestically he was runner-up from 1928-30 at the German Nationals and was German Police Champion in 1927. By profession he was a policeman and head of the department of physical exercises for the uniformed police in Fürth.
