Biography
Jens Volkmann failed to reach the final of the 3,000 steeplechase at the 1988 Seoul Olympic Games, finishing eighth in his semifinal. He placed seventh at the 1989 Europeans, and competed in the European Cross-Country Championships in 1994. In 1987 and 1988 Volkmann was second in the steeplechase at the West German Championships. By profession, Volkmann was a radio and TV engineer.
Personal Best: 3000S – 8:22.85 (1988).
