Biography

In 1924 Greek long-distance runner Vyron Athanasiadis was the Panhellenic champion in the 10,000 metres, which earned him qualification for the Olympics. Later that year at the Paris Games Athanasiadis once again ran in the 10,000 metres but failed to finish the race. He also ran in the marathon but dropped out of the race somewhere between the 22nd and 23rd kilometre-mark.
