Miltiadis Gouskos was a Greek track and field athlete who specialised in the shot put. In 1895 the Tinia sports competition was held in Tinos in preparation for the first edition of the modern Olympic Games. Gouskos was a two-time champion in Tinia winning gold in the shot put and the discus. Further preparation for the Olympics took place in 1896 with the first edition of the Panhellenic Games where Gouskos became the shot put champion. Later the same year at the Athína Games he won the silver medal in the shot put with a throw of 11.03 metres. In the early 1900s Gouskos was working for the Ralli family in British India where he died from food poisoning in 1903.
