Biography

A hurdler, Ioannis Skiadas ran both hurdle events at the 1936 Berlin Olympics. He started in sports as a footballer, but later turned to athletics. A four-time Greek champion Skiadas won the 400 hurdles at the 1939 Balkan Games. He was a co-founder the Union of Greek Athletes. After a long engagement Skiadas married the well-known Greek actress Koula Agagiotou but died shortly thereafter from kidney failure.

Personal Bests: 110H – 15.3 (1936); 400H – 54.9 (1939).
