Biography

Ioannis Vrettos was a Greek distance runner who represented Chalandri. Vrettos was one of the 17 men who competed in the marathon at the 1896 Athína Olympics. Originally deemed to have finished in fifth, he was upgraded to fourth place after it had emerged that Spyridon Belokas had taken a carriage for a short part of the race.
