Biography

László Bartha started competing in the Szolnoki MÁV in 1942, winning the youth championship four times, before moving to Vasas as a senior. With his association Bartha won the Hungarian championship five times in the 4 x 100 metres relay. Between 1947 and 1951 he appeared in the national team eight times. He participated in the 1948 London Olympics where he was a member of the relay team that finished fourth. He took part in the Hungarian relay team that won the gold medal at the World College Championship in 1947 and 1949. His wife Szabó-Bartha Aranka was also part of the Hungarian national team and competed in the 1952 Olympics in Helsinki.
