Jenő Gáspár

Jenő Gáspár was an athlete with MAC (1910-1920, 1923-1925), and was with BBTE from 1920-23. He was one of the last all-round Hungarian athletes competing in almost all disciplines of athletics (sprints, jumping, throwing). Gáspár won six Hungarian titles in high jump and additionally won national championships in relays and team competitions. He won the high jump at the Göteborg Mini-Olympics in 1923 and finished fifth at the 1924 Paris Olympics. Gáspár twice broke the Hungarian record in high jump, retiring after his second record in 1925.

After his sports career, he worked as a trainer first in Italy and then in 1943 returned home and worked as a head coach of MAC. He was killed in World War II, during the Battle of Budapest.
