Biography

István Jankovich was one of the top European sprinters in his era. He was an athlete of MAC and four times Hungarian champion (1911-12 in both 100 / 220 yards). Jankovich was the Hungarian record holder in the 100 metres, and the first Hungarian sprinter to run 100 metres in less than 11 seconds. Jankovich was a member of the Hungarian national team from 1912-14. At the 1912 Stockholm Olympics he competed in the 100 metres and the 4x100 metre relay. Jankovich graduated as a lawyer.
