Biography

János Szabó was a remarkable Hungarian athlete in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Called “Bonzó” by his fellow sportsmen, Szabó won 17 Hungarian national championships and represented Hungary at the 1968 Olympics in the steeplechase. He finished his sports carrier in 1974. After his active career, Szabó worked for his former club Budapesti Honvéd.

Personal Best: 3000S – 8:42.2 (1968).
