Biography

Liliana Tagliaferri took up track athletics at the age of 13 and captured her first Italian national title only two years later, when she won the 4x100 metres relay. She also came second that year in the 100 metres and won that event in 1948 and 1949. She was selected to represent her country in both of these events at the 1948 and 1952 Summer Olympics, but did not reach the finals of any competition, with her best result being fifth in her 100 metres semifinal heat in 1948. She retired from active competition prior to the 1956 Melbourne Games and later worked as nurse.

Personal Best: 100 – 12.1 (1949).
