Biography

Attilio Bravi was a long jumper who was an eight-time Italian Champion in that event, winning the Italian title in 1952 and 1954-60. He also won one Italian championship in the 4x100 relay. Bravi won a gold medal in the long jump at the 1959 Universiade in Torino, and was a three-time champion at the World Military Championships (CISM). He competed twice at the European Championships, finishing seventh in 1954 and just missing the podium with fourth in 1958. After he retired from competition Bravi taught physical education at ISEF (University Institute of Physical Education) and later served as president of a local chapter of CONI, the Italian Olympic Committee, leaving that office in 2012.
