Biography

Renato Panciera was a member of club Coin Mestre when he won two national 400 m titles, in 1956 (47.8) and 1959 (47.5), both at the Olympic Stadium in Roma. He competed at the 1958 European Championships in Stockholm, and despite not advancing out of his individual 400 m heat, he was a member of the Italian 4x400 m relay team that finished fourth in 3:11.10.

At the 1960 Olympic Games on home soil, Panciera ran the 4x400 m relay with Giuseppe Bommarito, Mario Fraschini and Nerio Fossati and missed making the final by 0.17 seconds.

Personal Best: 400 – 47.4 (1959).
