Biography

Oscar Raise was a high jumper who competed at the 1976 and 1980 Olympics, and was eliminated in the qualifying round both times. He finished sixth at the 1978 European Indoor Championships and won the silver medal at the 1979 Mediterranean Games. Raise’s personal best jump was 2.27 metres, achieved in September 1979 in Bologna, setting a new Italian record. His record lasted until 25 May 1980 when Paolo Borghi jumped 2.28. Oscar Raise won the Italian title in 1981 with 2.24 metres and collected 11 international caps from 1976-82.
