Biography

Umberto Ridi was an Italian 400 hurdles specialist in the 1930s, whose best year was 1936. He ran his personal best (54.6) in Firenze on 11 October 1936 with several other results between 55.3 and 55.8. On 30 May he also managed to beat the aging Luigi Facelli for the first time.

Ridi’s only major tournament was the Berlin Olympics where he was eliminated in round one. He won five international caps from 1933-36.
