Biography

Zenji Okuzawa was a Japanese track and field athlete who specialised in the steeplechase. Okuzawa graduated from the Faculty of Economics of Toyo University in 1960. Two years later he became the national champion in the 3,000 metres steeplechase and won bronze in the event at the Asian Games in Jakarta. At the 1964 Tokyo Olympics he finished fifth in his heat with only the top three athletes progressing to the final.
