Aniset won 24 championship titles in his career, including seven cross-country titles, and set 15 national records. He ran in the 5,000 metres at the 1960 Roma Olympics but finished 11th in his heat and did not advance. Four years later he ran in the marathon at the 1964 Tokyo Olympics, finishing 34th out of the 58 athletes to complete the course. Aniset’s time in Tokyo of 2-29:52.6 was an improvement on the Luxembourg record by more than six minutes. Two years later he ran 2-21.31 setting a national record that stood until Marc Agosta bettered it in 1983.
