Biography

Mexican track and field athlete Alfonso Stoopen represented Escuela Libre de Derecho in the nation’s capital. Stoopen finished 32nd in the long jump at the 1924 Paris Olympics with a best effort of 5.480. He was also scheduled to participate in the high jump in Paris but did not start the event. Two years later he won gold in the high jump at the 1926 Central American and Caribbean Games.
