Biography

Sonja Prétôt had a relatively brief international track career in the mid-1950s. She represented Switzerland at the 1952 Helsinki Olympics, where she was eliminated in round one of the 100 metres. She was also selected for the 200 metres, but did not compete. Her only other major international tournament was the 1954 European Championships, where she took part in three events and was eliminated in the heats of both the 100 and 200 metres. Alongside Gretel Bolliger and the non-Olympians Trudy Hänseler and Edith Jakob, she helped set a national record in the 4x100 metres relay, despite being eliminated in the heats once again.

Personal Best: 100 – 12.4 (1954).
