Biography

Swiss long-distance runner Oscar Garin represented Club Pédestre de Plainpalais Genève where he set a national record in the 10,000 metres in 1920. Garin was selected to run in the same race at the 1920 Antwerpen Olympics where he finished in ninth place. He was also scheduled to run in the cross-country race at the Antwerpen Games but did not start the event. In April 1923 Garin became the Swiss cross-country champion in the 10km race in Genève. Two months later he was one of eight Swiss athletes to attend a pre-meet for the 1924 Paris Olympics but ultimately was not selected to compete.
