Biography

Gustaf Carlén was a Swedish long-distance runner who represented IFK Oxelösund. At the 1912 Stockholm Olympics he finished in 21st place in the individual cross-country event where he was the eighth Swede to finish the race. Sweden won gold in the team cross-country event, but as only the top three individual results counted towards the team placings, Carlén did not win a medal. Two years later Carlén did win gold in the team cross-country race at the Swedish championships.
