Biography

Swedish long-distance runner Bror Hellström represented SoIK Hellas in Nacka and specialized in the 5,000 metres. Hellström won his first medal in the event at the national championships in 1936 when he finished third. He then won two silver medals (1937, 1939) before winning three consecutive Swedish titles from 1940 to 1942. In 1940, he also won gold in the 10,000 metres and the 8 km team cross-country race. Hellström ran in the 5,000 metres at the 1936 Berlin Olympics where he finished 14th.
