Biography

Eric Nilsson took up track and field athletics at a young age and focused on the steeplechase. He never captured a Swedish title, but his consistent training efforts paid off when he was selected to represent his country at the 1952 Helsinki Olympics. There, he was eliminated in round one of the 3,000 metres steeplechase. He retired from active competition one year later to focus on his career in the dairy industry, as he was an accounts manager for Mjölkcentralen at the time of the Games. Although he never raced seriously again, he did provide some coaching for local sports clubs.

Personal Best: 3000S – 9:00.8 (1952).
