Leopoldo Serantes was a light-flyweight boxer who won bronze at the 1988 Seoul Olympics. He was twice a champion at the Southeast Asian Games, winning titles in 1985 and 1987. Serantes was a sergeant in the Philippine Army during his amateur career. He never turned professional. Serantes died from severe pulmonary disease, which he had suffered with for several years.
