Srirat·Chimrak began her career as an 800 m runner, placing 7th in the Asian Championships 1991 and lowering the national record to 2.08,94. She was picked for the Thai 4×400 m team in the 1992 Olympics. She competed in the 400 m at the Asian Championships 1993, but had her best season in 1995, when she was member of the Thai 4×400 m bronze winning team in the Asian Championship, and also coming 6th in the individual race.
