Biography

The peak of Mohamed Gouider’s track career came at the 1960 Rome Olympics, where he was a member of Tunisia’s first independent delegation to the Games. There he competed in the 1500 meters event, being eliminated in round one. Despite this lone Olympic appearance, he was proficient in many track and field events, particularly the javelin throw, and was a well-regarded athlete domestically. He later moved to Qatar, where he served as the national technical director for athletics.
