Biography

Pam Dukes was a shot putter and discus thrower who competed in the shot at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics. Dukes graduated from Stanford, where she won the 1987 NCAA Indoor title in the shot put. She also finished fifth in the shot put at the 1987 Pan American Games and fourth in discus throw at the 1991 Pan Ams. Dukes was second at the US Championships in the shot put in 1987, in the discus throw in 1991 and 1995, and in the hammer throw in 1991.

Dukes later earned a masters’ degree in organizational behavior. She is a member of the Freehold Township (NJ) High School Athletic Hall of Fame, and was inducted into the Jersey Shore Sports Hall of Fame in 2004. Dukes later worked as an administrator for a medical group in Dallas.
