Biography

After graduating from Topeka High School, Julia Dyer ran for Texas Southern College and Topeka Community College. She also competed for the Topeka Cosmos Track Club. At Texas Southern Dyer was one of the six original members of the school’s women’s track team. She placed only fifth at the 1968 Olympic Trials, but made the team when athletes dropped out after injuries. Dyer was inducted into the Texas Southern Hall of Fame as well as the Southwestern Athletic Conference Hall of Fame

Personal Bests: 100 – 12.5 (1968); 80mH – 10.8 (1968); 100H – 14.7 (1969); LJ – 18-5 [5.61] (1967).
