William Comins won the IC4A long jump title in 1923-24, competing for Yale. He graduated from Yale in 1925. He made the Olympic team despite finishing fifth at the US Olympic Trials. Comins was ranked in US top 10 list for the long jump in both 1923 (#2) and 1924 (34).
