Biography

Chris Dunn won the NCAA indoor high jump in 1972-73, competing for Colgate University. At the AAU meet, he finished sixth in 1971 and third in 1973. Dunn’s best year was 1972 when he won the NCAA Indoor Championships, Penn Relays, Martin Luther King Games, and the IC4A Championships. In high school in Newark, Delaware, Dunn was state high jump champion and state decathlon champion in 1970.

Dunn later turned professional with the International Track Association, which lasted only a few years in the mid-1970s. He was voted Delaware’s Athlete of the Year in 1972, was inducted into the Delaware Sports Hall of Fame in 1989, and became a member of the Delaware Track & Field Hall of Fame in 1994.

Personal Best: HJ – 2.22 (1976).
