Biography

Danny Everett ran the 400 metres at the 1988 and 1992 Olympics, winning a bronze medal in 1988, and also won a gold medal in the 4x400 at the 1988 Olympics. Everett won a full set of medals at the World Championships with a gold in the 4x400 in 1987, silver in the 4x400 in 1991, and bronze in the 400 in 1991. He also helped the US win gold in the 4x400 at the 1993 World Indoor Championships.

Everett attended UCLA, where he won the 1988 NCAA title over 400 metres, after placing second in 1987. He was inducted into the UCLA Athletic Hall of Fame in 2003. Everett later coached in California, working with the Ojai Roadrunners. He became a well-known chef after attending the Los Angeles Culinary Institute, and started a sports merchandising firm, Precious Medals.

Personal Best: 400 – 43.81 (1992).
