Biography

Sol Furth was a triple jumper who competed for New York University and various clubs around New York, including the NYAC and Millrose AA. In the triple jump, Furth had a best finish of second at the AAU in 1929 and 1935, and also finished third in 1930 and 1934 and fourth in 1935. He also finished third in the 1930 AAU long jump. Furth was also known as a top hurdler and set an American record in the obscure 70-yard indoor hurdles in 1931. He later worked as a track coach at Brooklyn College.

Personal Bests: 120yH – 15.2 (1930); LJ – 7.49 (24-7) (1930); TJ – 14.88 (48-10) (1932).
