Biography

Matt Giusto ran the 5,000 metres at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, but did not get past the heats. Giusto ran in college at the University of Arizona, where he won the 1988 NCAA Meet at 5K, and also finished third in the 1986 NCAA cross-country. Giusto twice won the USA Nationals in the 5K, winning in 1993 and 1994. He was a runner-up in 1995, and also placed second indoors at the nationals in the 1994 3,000 metres. Giusto later turned to the roads, winning national titles in 1994 and 1996, the later at the Crescent City Classic.

Personal Best: 5000 – 13:23.60 (1993).
