Biography

Millard Hampton of UCLA set a career 200 m best of 20.10 in winning the 1976 Final Trials. He had earlier won the AAU title and, apart from placing only fifth in the California Relays in May, his second place to Don Quarrie of Jamaica at the Olympics was Hampton’s only defeat of the season. Hampton won a relay gold medal at Montréal and continued competing until 1980, when he placed second at the TAC championships.

Personal Bests: 100 – 10.33 (1977); 200 – 20.10 (1976).
