Biography

Jim Howard was a high jumper who competed at the 1988 Seoul Olympics. His best international result was placing second at the 1985 World Cup. Howard jumped in college for Texas A&M University, finishing tied for second at the 1981 NCAA Meet, after placing sixth in 1980 and seventh in 1979. Howard was US Champion in 1984, placing second in 1986 and 1988. He was ranked in the world top 10 five times between 1984-98, ranking #2 in 1985-86. He was in the US top 10 nine times between 1980-89, ranking first in 1985-87, and second in 1984 and 1988.
