Biography

Dave Popejoy was a hammer thrower who competed at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. Popejoy attended Stanford University. He made the 1996 US hammer throw squad with his best friend, Kevin McMahon, with whom he played football and track in high school. Popejoy was runner-up at the US nationals in 1995-96 and third in 1997. While third at the 1997 USA Nationals, he could not compete at the World Championships because he did not have a qualifying standard.

Personal Best: HT – 74.26 (1996).
