Biography

Homer Whelchel finished fifth in the 1922 NCAA javelin throw, competing for Georgia Tech, where he captained the track team in 1924. He placed third at the 1924 Olympic Trials. After the Paris Olympics, Whelchel won the javelin throw at the USA vs. British Empire meet in London.

Personal Best: JT – 58.90 (193-3) (1923).
