Biography

Austrian track & field athlete Robert Schöffthaler qualified for the 1906 Intercalated Athens Olympics when he won the 110 metres hurdles (20.6) and finished second in the 100 metres at the Austrian selection competition held in Vienna (WAC field) on 8 April 1906. He then participated in the Olympics over 100 metres and 110 metres hurdles but was eliminated in the heats in both. In 1903, Schöffthaler set an Austrian record over 100 yards with 11.0 seconds, and also in 1904 with the Olympic relay (4:16.8 minutes).
