Biography

German swimmer Ernst Bahnmeyer from Karlsruhe won a silver medal at the 1906 Athina Olympics with the 4x250 metres freestyle relay, swimming the anchor leg. He also came in sixth in the one mile freestyle. After his sports career Bahnmeyer became a sports administrator with the German Life Saving Association DLRG.
