Biography

Italian Alpine skier Frida Clara achieved her first significant results in March 1934 with two second-place finishes and a third-place at a competition in Sestriere. A year later Clara finished second to the great Italian skier Paula Wiesinger in a pre-Olympic trial, earning herself a place at the 1936 Garmisch-Partenkirchen Games. At the Games she finished 12th in the combined event, four places ahead of Wiesinger. In 1938 Clara became the national champion in the downhill at the Italian Alpine skiing championships.
