Biography

Tyrolean-born cross country skier Hildegard Embacher participated in the 1988 Calgary Winter Olympics. She competed in three events: over 5 km (45th), 10 km (42nd), and 20 km (50th). In 1987, 1989 and 1991, she appeared at the World Championships, but with little success. Domestically, Embacher won the Austrian relay titles in 1986-90 and the 20 km individual title in 1991. She also enjoyed seven more podium finishes.
