Biography

Monika Maierhofer was an Austrian Alpine skier and slalom specialist. She participated at the 1992 Albertville and 1994 Lillehammer Winter Olympics. Maierhofer could not finish in 1992 and placed 12th in 1994.

Maierhofer’s active career lasted from 1987-95 and she was among the world’s best slalom skiers. Despite winning just one World Cup race, in 1992, she did enjoy 12 podium finishes throughout her career. In 1989, she was runner-up in the overall World Cup.

Maierhofer was married to Helmut Exenberger, who was managing director of the ski company Blizzard until June 2023. They raised two daughters.
