Biography

Cross-country skier Ute Nestler was initially coached by her mother Christine. Ute was a member of the East German team at the 1980 Lake Placid Winter Olympics and finished 16th over 5 km. She won four gold medals at the East German nationals with the relays of her home club SC Traktor Oberwiesenthal in 1977-78, 1980, and 1982. Her son Andy Kühne became a cross-country skier as well.
