Biography

Red-headed Kathleen Roberts competed in the 1968 Winter Olympics when she was only 16, and eventually represented the United States three times at the Winter Olympics. She won six US championships and seven North American championships in her career. In 1970 Roberts finished eighth at the World Championships, the best finish by an American woman in the first 20 years of American luge. Roberts later attended the University of Montana, and with her husband, as Mrs. Roberts-Homstad, settled in Goleta, California, where she raised a family.
